University of Western Ontario library school student David Scott links on his new MLS Musings blog to a really interesting 1947 vocational video about librarianship that I encourage librarians to check out.
I’ve watched the video before, and think it’s really interesting, as I’m quite fascinated by the history of librarians, but it was cool to watch a little bit of again.
The post also has some interesting thoughts about the continuities between Librarianship 1947 v. Librarianship 2014 (although, contra what Mr. Scott says in his post, I very much think that the purpose of librarianship is to connect users with the information they care about (what else would it be?!).
