Remember when this awesomely bad thing happened to Jessie Spano because she was obsessed with getting into Stanford and being in Hot Sundae?
If only she’d read her Ed. Psych. The new issue of Scientific American has some great short pieces on “How We Learn” and “The Best Ways to Study“. I was just recently discussing some of these strategies with students during a session I mentioned in a previous post , particularly the importance of self-testing and distributed practice. Great stuff to be aware of and to discuss with your students to help them study, increase their learning and retention, and keep their caffeine addiction from reaching Spano-strophic levels.
